The triage nurse calls you to tell you EMS is bringing in a 2 y/o
with a gun shot wound to the neck. ETA - 4 minutes. No other information is available.
Questions:
1. What size ET tube will you need?
2. If you can’t get the tube, can you do a Cricothyrotomy? What age can you start to do Cricothyrotomies?
3. Do child access prevention laws help reduce death rates from unintentional firearm injuries in kids?
4. Where do most children get guns used in unintentional injuries or youth suicide attempts?
